Auditory-Verbal Therapy is a therapy approach to aural rehabilitation that focuses on developing speech and language skills exclusively through hearing.  It is based on the principle that by maximizing a child’s auditory potential with cochlear implants and hearing aids most Deaf and hearing impaired children can learn to listen and speak and succeed in a mainstream education program.  Working 1:1 with the child, early intervention and parent training are central components to an effective Auditory Verbal program
